cacophony of progress
seduction of change
we were winding down to our dusk of still
now we have unleashed a dawn of dead
agriculture of my near ancestors
picked to the bone by robotic limbs
food wrapped in the new
embalmed for tomorrow's mouth
gears grind the bone

scalping heads, like flowers to a sling
dropping the scowls and scars
a record of where I have been
a trail of my fury, my fate, my folly
redeemed for a path now revealed

to the blind of the present
content and discontent
for they choose sides
it isn't the choosing that matters
it is the chasm between

we run them off the edges
to build a bridge out of their corpses
walk over their spines
fingerbones crushing underneath
our boots

this is our victory
the end of talk and chatter
i mix it with tea
teeth ground to dust
drink it for the sake of history and record
